Average turnover in the call center industry, which is known for poor working conditions and low morale, is 80 to 90 percent. At Beryl, a health care call center in Bedford, Texas, that number is only 17 percent, due to a company culture that values employees above all else. In today’s AIE Imaging Executive Podcast, PMA Senior Editor Jennifer Barr Kruger interviews Paul Spiegelman, cofounder of Beryl, and author of the book, “Why Is Everyone Smiling? The Secret Behind Passion, Productivity and Profit.” He explains some of the simple things he does to make his employees happy, and earn customers for life.
